At our house, we really like the crispy crunch of French bread-style pizza. The only problem is the amount of bread and calories in the traditional kind. We had recently discovered a healthy multi-grain bread in the Walmart bakery section, and it provided a healthier substitute for our love of pizza bread. I just used a bread knife to cut each loaf into three sections lengthwise! Spread with sauce, cheese and favorite toppings. Bake on baking sheets in a preheated 400 degree oven!

My Healthy Version of Ranch Dip
This is a healthier way to snack on chips or a vegetable tray during the upcoming Super Bowl. For a creamy ranch dip, I just mix 1 large container of Walmart's Fat Free Plain Greek Yogurt with a packet ( or couple of TBSP) of Hidden Valley Ranch dry mix. Chill in the fridge until game time. You can pair it up with Lays Baked Chips, veggies or wheat pretzels. More snacking-less guilt! Enjoy!

Hot Barley Cereal....mmm-mmm
We're trying to eat healthier here at the Davis house. It's a challenge because the whole crew lioves pizza(extra cheese!) and BBQ and hubby has a sweet tooth! So you can see how we're, 'swimming upstream' here!
Last night before bed, I put 2 cups of barley with 8 cups of water and a tablespoon of cinnamon in the crockpot.
This morning as I checked the pot, I felt it resembled dog food. First looks can be deceiving, though, because it was delicious! It is more hearty than Irish oats and has a nutty flavor. If I hadn't added the spice, I could use the leftovers to make a beef and barley soup; need to remember that for next time.
Hope you'll give this a try. Well, I'm off to unpack some more moving boxes. Justin"s here, so I have extra help today :)
