If you don't have a skillet screen, you really do need one! Mine is several years old and was part of my Mother's Day gifts from my sons one year. This kitchen utensil will save you so much time from wiping splatters off your cooktop that you'll wonder how you ever lived without one! (Check for it at kitchen specialty stores.)
